Professional Experience

Software Developer Coop @ Fidelity Investments

Jul 2023 - Dec 2023

Boston, US

FDAS Crypto
  • Developed secure, scalable cloud-based microservices using modern Java frameworks for REST API design and implementation, incorporated OAuth authentication protocols, asynchronous message handling, and SQL database management with help of JDBC, in addition, used Angular to create intuitive UI to interact with backend microservices.
  • Deployed new API for using LaunchDarkly feature management platform, automated unit and integration tests, utilized containerization using Docker for software packaging, and orchestrated continuous integration pipelines to prepare services for AWS deployment.
  • Proficiently debugged issues on AWS, on-premises, and SOAP gateway, ensuring software reliability and readiness for deployment, analyzed, and resolved 30+ migration bugs every sprint while also coordinating builds and conducting smoke testing for a seamless development and deployment process to production.

Software Engineer @ TCS

Sept 2018 - Aug 2022

Mumbai, India

  • Engineered 20+ features in a team of 10 people using Java with Spring framework and inculcated Redis cache to address the challenge of retrieving repeated data from MongoDB.
  • Actively contributed to dynamic frontend development utilizing NodeJS and leveraged Figma for crafting UI/UX design, spearheaded the design and development of distributed microservices, implementing robust architectural patterns to ensure scalability and fault tolerance.
  • Employed database sharding and mapped ORM to optimize data storage and retrieval processes within the microservices ecosystem
  • Engaged in Troubleshooting team and Module Care Team for debugging over 50 issues every week with help of logs and degradations in Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and was involved in internal and external code reviews.
  • Orchestrated and groomed User-stories based on product requirements and collaborated with 3 different domains.
  • Led scrum ceremonies such as daily standups, sprint planning and retrospectives and mentored 3 juniors in solving Jira tickets.

Projects

Here are some of the top projects that I have worked on:

Stock Investing Application

Implemented a 1 user application to create and manage portfolios including adding, buying, and selling stocks, viewing portfolio composition and value, and calculating performance and investment amount. Configured 2 features namely commission cost per transaction and ability to add stocks using dollar value strategy using a Model View Controller design pattern.

Organ Aquisition

Designed a database to efficiently organize data regarding organ transplantation network, which includes information about donors, recipients, medical facilities, medical staff, and other relevant data. Developed back-end APIs using the FLASK framework to provide access to the database, enabling authorized users to retrieve and update the data efficiently and securely.

Music Hub

Developed and implemented a robust user authentication and registration system with role-based access control, allowing users to register, login, and choose their roles, ensuring secure access to different sections of the Music Hub website. Integrated external Web API functionality for searching and bookmarking music content, enabling users to search for music from remote services, bookmark content, allowing users to follow other users and access detailed information about music elements while maintaining data integrity and consistency within the application.

Tuiter

Developed a Twitter-like social networking application using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js), enabling users to create accounts, post tweets, follow other users, like and retweet tweets, and engage in conversations through comments. Implemented real-time features using WebSocket technology for instant notifications and updates.

Diffie Hellman Key Exchange Research

This project explored the potential impact of quantum computing on the Diffie-Hellman Key Exchange algorithm and investigated alternative methods of generating secure keys. The study used theoretical analysis and practical implementation, including Python programming and the PyCryptodome library. The analysis showed that quantum computing poses a significant threat to classical cryptographic algorithms, but post-quantum cryptographic methods like the RLWE algorithm offer viable alternatives. Lattice-based and code-based cryptography are other post-quantum cryptographic schemes that are being explored as potential replacements for RSA and ECC. RLWE, which involves finding a short vector in a certain type of lattice, is believed to be computationally hard even for quantum computers.

Stack Overflow App

Built a Stack Overflow-inspired question and answer platform using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js), allowing users to post questions, provide answers, upvote/downvote content, and mark answers as accepted. Implemented user authentication and authorization for secure access to features and content, along with a robust search functionality to find relevant questions and answers.

Testimonials

Here is what people have to say about me.

Esha is very hardworking and eager to learn. She showed a strong work ethic, a keen ability to get tasks done efficiently, and was an excellent team member. Her expertise in Spring Boot and Java was a perfect fit for our team and the initiatives we were working on. I would be pleased to recommend her for any professional opportunity.

Mark Gambon

Principal Software Engineer @Fidelity Investments

Esha was the best TA I've had at Northeastern University. She TA's 5200 (Graduate Database Management Systems) in Spring 2024. This is an intensive graduate level course designed to give students the background they need to pursue a PhD in data management or to become practicing data analysts. Esha was very proactive. She recognized when I was teaching topics more rigorously than had been taught when she took the equivalent course and she came to class to expand her understanding. As a result, she was better able to help the students with their understanding and problem sets. She was always responsive, professional, and on-time and did a great job helping me and helping the students. I recommend her!

Professor Renée Miller

(Northeastern University and University of Waterloo)

Esha is one of the best TAs I ever had. She is hardworking, passionate and diligent in her work.

Professor John Rachlin

Associate Teaching Professor @Khoury College of Computer Science @Northeastern University

Esha had made excellent progress in the company due to her superior work ethics and dedication to the job. She has excellent team working abilities and uses her abilities very well to arrive at the desired results in an organized manner.
